FatCow is an affordable Host. To date, we are maintaining our recommendation based on our personal satistfaction with FatCow. We own and operate over 50 sites and have never had a problem with FatCow's performance or service.

All our sites are designed using Dreamweaver:
http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/ Dreamweaver is not cheap. If you are looking for a low-cost Web Creation package there are other alternatives. However, in your endeavor to create and run a website, the editing software will be a critical initial (and one-time) expense. We've been very pleased with Dreamweaver (performance, capabilities, plug-in's and ease of use).

The vast majority of our site photos come from Dreamstime.com:
http://www.dreamstime.com/ The Dreamstime site is simple and friendly to use. They offer a huge collection of images, both photos and illistrations. Their cost is very competitive with other similar sites (sometimes as much as 30% lower). One thing to remember in web design, you typically can stick with the lower-resolution size files (small & medium work fine). Large high resolution images are necessary for printed media - but not necessarily for the typical desktop / laptop screen resolution.

All our domains are registered with GoDaddy:
http://www.godaddy.com/ GoDaddy is a full-service domain provider and host - plus many more services. Again we can personally recommend GoDaddy for domain registeration (50+ sites). They are efficient and typically one of the lowest cost providers. Why pay $20 to $40 to register a site, when you can pay $10? Plus GoDaddy typically has coupons floating around, so you could pay as low as $6 for the first year. We register at GoDaddy and then point our DNS (Domain Name Servers) at FatCow.
